Wall - curtain - curtain wall
The body of the Müller House, which is the common name for the building located on Komenského Street in Opava near the Historical Exhibition Building of the Silesian Museum, was based on the original rampart and curtain wall of the older medieval city fortification.
The main city wall from before 1205 was 2 to 2.4 m wide, shallowly founded and situated in a place with older proofs of settlement.
The curtain wall, or advanced defensive wall in front of the main wall with the function of strengthening the city's fortifications, was located in the eastern part of the area.
The space between the two walls is called curtain. It was created by bringing soil in front of the main wall to a height of several meters. This made the entire space significantly higher.
